OSLC Connect for Jira 2.5.0 is here! We’re excited to share with you these great new features and usability enhancements.

Improving Usability for Engineers

We are always looking to support engineers in ease of use and value. We are adding several new features to provide more value for your existing Jira deployment.

Preview Enhancements

Customizable Previews

With OSLC Connect for Jira, previews are how we view Jira Issues from other OSLC compliant products. In this release, you can customize your previews by using Jira Screen definitions to define content for your preview. We do not all have the same issue types, and we should only show what is valuable to your team. Use Jira Screens to customize your Jira content.

Customize Previews by Type

We don’t want your previews to be constrained to a single presentation for all projects and types. With OSLC Connect for Jira 2.5.0, customize your Jira Scheme to associate a different screen for each type to create a different preview layout per type.

Collaboration Links in Previews

OSLC Connect is all about linking data and we wanted this more visible. OSLC Links are now available in the preview as Issue Links!

Custom Fields in Reporting

When reporting for OSLC Connect was introduced, we established a common and standard set of attributes. While this addressed many reporting needs, our users wanted more. In this release, we are introducing flexibility.

In each Jira Scheme, users can identify the attributes that they want to expose for reports.

And then they are accessible in Report Builder for presentations and for filters.

Process Supports

Teams using OSLC Connect are using it for reporting, compliance, and process enhancements. We want to make adherence to the process both natural to users as well as consistent. In this release, we are introducing link customizations to encourage the usage of your process' link types.

Default Link Type

In your Jira Scheme, you can now set a default link type per Jira Issue type. This will reduce navigation through sets of possible link types and lead to more consistent real-time data.

For example, you will now be able to encourage Bugs to use “Affects Requirement” links as the automatic selection.

Restrict Possible Links

The power of OSLC provides a wealth of possible link types. Many organizations only want a subset of link types. We now provide a configuration in your Jira scheme to set what are the available link types. With this, your reports will become more consistent and valued.

And it will also simplify your user menus to only the relationships needed.
