OSLC Connect for Jira is a Jira app by SodiusWillert that creates live, bi-directional links between Jira issues and artifacts in Siemens Polarion ALM such as requirements, test cases, and work items alike. It uses the OSLC (Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration) open standard. This means that your data stays where it belongs, in each tool, and is always current at the point of use. No duplication. No synchronization jobs. No one-way bridges.
OSLC Connect for Jira connects tools over an open, vendor-neutral standard. It is not a proprietary bridge that locks you in or breaks with Polarion upgrades.
Polarion requirements appear as standard Jira issue links, with rich hover previews and live status updates, without users having to leave Jira.
Live Jira data flows into Polarion reports, giving you a complete, auditable traceability record for ISO 26262, ASPICE, and DO-178C audits.
With OSLC Connect for Jira, you can easily create links between related engineering artifacts such as requirements, change requests from Siemens Polarion, and issues (Defect, Task Case, Story, Tast, etc) from Jira Software.
Links are bidirectional, which means that once created, you can click on it and it will take you to the linked artifact in the other tool.
Create new Jira issues from Polarion with OSLC Connect for Jira.
Once the Jira issue has been created, the app will automatically generate a collaboration link that establishes the relationship between the Polarion artifact and the Jira issue. The link is available directly on your Polarion artifact as well as on the related Jira issue.
Get more details on the linked Polarion artifacts with rich previews that show live Polarion requirements or change request information natively in Jira.
A simple hover on your collaboration link will open a display window showing real-time information from Siemens Polarion. There is no need to wait for updates or synchronization schedules: links are dynamic and always show the current Polarion ALM content.
With OSLC Connect for Jira, you can add Jira data to your reports in Siemens Polarion ALM, providing you with a centralized overview of the trace relationships between your requirements and implementation tasks.
Include Jira data in your Polarion reports, instantly observe trace relationships, identify what requirements have open issues more easily, and demonstrate compliance more easily.

Data stays in its source tool. OSLC Connect for Jira creates live links over the OSLC standard. Jira stores the URL, Polarion stores the URL, and everything you see is pulled dynamically from the remote system. Nothing is copied. Nothing can go stale due to a failed sync.
Jira issue data such as status, priority, story points, sprint, assignee, is available inside Polarion reports via OSLC. Compliance teams can generate complete lifecycle reports that include live development data from Jira, satisfying ISO 26262, DO-178C, and ASPICE traceability requirements.
Workflow validators use live Polarion data to enforce your process rules at the point of action. Teams cannot transition a Jira ticket until the requirements it implements are in an approved state in Polarion.
OSLC is an OASIS open standard used by IBM, Siemens, and other leading ALM vendors. Choosing an OSLC-based Jira Polarion connector means your integration is not tied to a proprietary sync engine that can break between Polarion versions or Jira Data Center upgrades.
Developers work in Jira. Requirements and systems engineers work in Polarion. Both see live cross-tool data in context via rich hover previews, link status, and dynamic tables, without switching applications or accessing the other tool directly.

The bundled Polarion connector synchronizes work items between the two tools. It copies and maps data.
OSLC Connect for Jira creates live OSLC links: data is never duplicated, it is fetched dynamically from its source. This means there is no synchronization conflict to resolve, no risk of data divergence, and no scheduled sync job to maintain. It also means each tool remains the authoritative source for its own data, which is a critical distinction for regulated industries where audit trails must be unambiguous.
OSLC Connect for Jira is tested against current releases of Jira Data Center and recent Polarion ALM versions. For the exact supported version matrix, refer to the release notes in our documentation. If you are running a specific version and want to confirm compatibility before starting a trial, contact our team directly at sodiuswillert.com/en/contact-us.
OSLC Connect for Jira is a Jira Data Center app available on an annual subscription basis. Pricing is based on your Jira Data Center user tier. It is available through the Atlassian Marketplace as well as directly from SodiusWillert.
For volume, enterprise, or multi-product licensing (for example, if you are also integrating Jira with IBM DOORS Next or IBM Engineering Test Management), contact our team for a tailored quote.
Yes. SodiusWillert offers a free evaluation of OSLC Connect for Jira. You can request a trial license via the product page or the Atlassian Marketplace. Our team provides onboarding support during the evaluation period to help you complete the repository connection and validate the integration against your Polarion environment. Most teams complete the initial setup within a single working session.
Yes. The core value for compliance teams is that Jira issue data (e.g. status, priority, sprint, story points, custom fields) is accessible via OSLC inside Polarion reports.
This means your compliance documentation can include live Jira development data, providing end-to-end traceability from requirements through implementation and verification in a single report.
The link data is also queryable, so impact analysis across tool boundaries is possible without manual cross-referencing. OSLC Connect for Jira does not replace your quality management process; it gives your existing Polarion reporting the Jira data it needs to be complete.
Initial setup requires a Jira administrator and a Polarion administrator to register each system as an OAuth-authenticated "friend" of the other. This is typically a 30–60 minute task.
Project associations are handled by project admins, not global admins, and can be configured incrementally.
There is no ongoing synchronization job to maintain. Updates to Polarion linked data semantics or link type mappings are configuration changes, not code deployments.

OSLC Connect for Jira is one part of SodiusWillert's broader Polarion integration ecosystem. If your team also uses Xray for test management or Confluence for documentation, these connectors close the remaining traceability gaps.
Close the test-to-requirement traceability loop. bi-directionally link Xray test cases and test execution results directly to Polarion requirements, so your teams can prove test coverage without leaving their tools or extracting data manually.
Embed live Polarion requirements, test results, and work items directly inside Confluence pages. Teams writing engineering documentation, design specs, or safety cases can surface Polarion data in context. Data is always current, no copy-paste required.
