System-of-Systems

A system of systems (SoS) is a collection of independent systems that work together to form a larger, more complex system. These systems maintain their own management and operational independence while collaborating to achieve broader capabilities that none could accomplish alone.

SoS architecture aims to maximize the value of the larger system by understanding and optimizing the interactions and interfaces of its constituent parts, often requiring systems thinking and engineering to manage and evolve these complex integrations.
