Global Configurations Management (GCM)

Global Configuration Management (GCM) is a web-based application used to combine multiple configurations. It’s an optional part of IBM’s Engineering Lifecycle Management suite. Each configuration represents a versioned set of artifacts in a single, global view. It allows teams to manage systems made up of various tools and components, whether they’re working on new versions, maintaining past baselines, or managing product variants. A configuration is either a working version (stream) or a snapshot (baseline) of a component. By assembling these into global configurations, teams gain traceability, reuse, and control across complex software and systems engineering projects.
