OSLC Connect for Jira: suspending support for IBM DOORS Classic

By Robert Baillargeon | 28/09/2021 | Reading time: 1 min

Earlier this year, we shared some guidance on using DOORS Classic with its embedded Internet Explorer.

New call-to-action

At the time, our team recommended users remain in Jira 8.5 or earlier. The Jira 8.5 LTS (Long Term Support) is reaching End Of Life next month (October 2021), which prevents us from recommending this version of Jira.

We know most enterprise Jira users have moved, or will be moving, to Jira 8.13 LTS in the next few weeks. The Jira 8.13 release does not support Internet Explorer, and our evaluation experiences prove the incompatibilities with Internet Explorer.

With Jira no longer having an Internet Explorer compatible release, we will now suspend evaluations of OSLC Connect for Jira with IBM DOORS Classic.

While we see great value with the DOORS to Jira connection, the incompatibilities posed by the DOORS usage of Internet Explorer prevents users from being successful and secure in their enterprise.

If/when IBM releases a version of the DOORS Client compatible with the Jira Data Center LTS, we will review and look to reinstate support for DOORS Classic.
