Over the years, our objective has always remained consistent: to provide our customers with ever greater value with products and services tailored to their specific needs, enabling them to tackle the increasing complexity of engineering complex systems and software with confidence. The least we can say is that our teams have been particularly busy this year pursuing this quest. First, on the product front, where we have several innovations and releases to report. And through the transmission of our expertise with seminars and congresses or across the extraordinary work of our ambassadors. As 2024 comes to a close, let's take one last look back before starting a new year that will hopefully be just as thrilling.
We have 3 IBM champions!
This year, two of our SoWi experts, Andy Lapping and Martin Stockl, joined Walter van der Heiden as IBM Champions. How proud and lucky we are to have 3 SodiusWillert experts on board for this prestigious program! IBM champions are enthusiastic recognized experts in their respective fields dedicated to promoting and advancing the message of innovation supported by IBM technologies. They are particularly keen to share their extended knowledge through authored books, articles, or videos and speaking at conferences and seminars, and within any real or virtual occasion that gathers technical communities.
🔹 This year, Walter is celebrating his third consecutive year as IBM champion. He is a highly renowned specialist in UML/SysML among our customers, peers, and partners. For decades, he has dedicated himself to improving the development of systems and embedded software. In parallel, Walter is also a successful author, coach, and trainer, focusing on his favorite areas of expertise.
🔹 Andy is, among other things, the brilliant mind who brings you all the helpers and add-ons that amplify the power of IBM Rhapsody and simplify its use for thousands of users. This year, you've probably seen at least one of his webinars, presentations, or training courses, including the weekly tutorials on Power Pack for IBM Rhapsody, which Walter describes as “Monday rays of sunshine”.
🔹 As for Martin, customers are systematically stunned by his broad knowledge of IBM Rhapsody. Application development, model-based systems and software, and automatic code generation hold no secrets for him. Working closely with our customers, Martin develops best practices and improves tools for automating the most common design patterns.

We Won the Innovation Prize of the Schaumburg District
In April, SodiusWillert won the Innovation Prize of the Schaumburg District in Lower Saxony, Germany. This award recognizes promising concepts from a wide range of industries. Our teams were singled out for our use of the Neo4j graphical database not only to store information but also to map its connections - in the manner of a neural network. Great job folks!

We've released new products and added new features to others
Improve Publisher for Rhapsody for More Efficiency
Publisher for IBM Rhapsody is our flagship solution for the exchange of systems models between IBM Rhapsody and Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw) format. Early this year, the Publisher team enabled the product to perform iterative scenarios, allowing users to realize roundtrip scenarios and bidirectional workflows between IBM Rhapsody and Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw). The team has also added support for converting specific parts of Cameo models to the Rhapsody form such as hyperlinks, rectangles, free shapes, images, etc.
Meet OSLC Connect for PTC Windchill
This addition to our OSLC connector portfolio allows engineering teams to connect PTC Windchill to IBM ELM and Atlassian Jira Software. OSLC Connect for PTC Windchill bridges the gap between product and software teams and simplifies the creation of links to trace the relationships between product and software engineering artifacts, ensuring full traceability and visibility across the product development lifecycle and bridging the crucial gap between hardware and software teams.
Two apps that bring out the full power of IBM Rhapsody!
This year was also marked by the introduction of two new add-ons for IBM Rhapsody, Power Pack, and Profile Builder.
➡️ Power Pack for IBM Rhapsody
Power Pack is a collection of automation features that provide engineers working with IBM Rhapsody with a broad range of helpers for greatly reduced manual work, streamlined workflows, consistency checking, automated creation of model elements, and more. Power Pack definitely brings more value to the Rhapsody environments by letting the daily work with IBM Rhapsody run more smoothly and with less laborious routine workflows.
➡️ Profile Builder for IBM Rhapsody
Profile Builder for IBM Rhapsody is a toolkit that provides you with a graphical model-based environment for creating and editing profiles in IBM Rhapsody. This allows you to access the full power of Rhapsody profiles without the hassle of having to manually edit all of the text-based elements Rhapsody uses.
We’ve met you in person
Conferences, seminars, and events gathering technical and engineering communities around the world are particularly important to us. They're invariably synonymous with immersion in new ideas and innovations, which honestly become more impressive every year passing by. But for us, they are above all special occasions to reach out to you. It's a dedicated time to listen to your experiences and discuss our respective challenges.
Tom Capelle, Automotive Day 2024
This year again, we took part and had the chance to speak at major events in the US and Europe, focusing on topics such as requirements engineering, embedded systems, MBSE, and digital engineering. We went to MESCONF, REConf, and ESE Kongress in Germany, INCOSE in Dublin and Digital Engineering for Defense, IBM Engineering User Conference (organized by 321 Gang), GDPIS, and NDIA in the US.
And we ended the year on a high note with our very own annual event, AUTOMOTIVE DAY, which took place in Munich and was once again a major hit. We particularly enjoyed the convivial atmosphere and the extremely rich conversations with our top-class speakers and peers, some of whom we've known for years. This edition’s theme tackled software-defined vehicles (SDV) and the resulting challenges for OEMs and suppliers.
And we can't resist the pleasure of sharing the video of these two amazing days with you once again.
Then, what's next?
At the beginning of 2025, we will see the culmination of months of intensive work and dedication with the release of two new solutions, OSLC Connect for Jira will support IBM ELM and Siemens Polarion ALM integrations with Xray Test Management for Jira, extending traceability to include Xray data in ELM and Polarion and a new addition to the Publisher family: Cameo Publisher for SPARX Enterprise Architect.
And of course, we're already looking forward to exchanging with you at conferences and events across the world. We can already advise you to save the date for our next edition of AUTOMOTIVE Day, on November 4 and 5, 2025 🗓️
We would like to end this post by thanking you for the trust you place in SodiusWillert and your invaluable support and loyalty over the years. We look forward to the future and continue to deliver the best tools and services that will drive your engineering projects to success.
✨ Happy holidays, stay safe and healthy, and all the best for 2025! ✨
