Users of OSLC Connect for Jira can create links between Jira issues and remote engineering artifacts such as requirements, test cases, change requests, and more directly from within Jira, but they can also create links from the other tools.
Links created are bidirectional which means that creating a link will automatically add it on the other side, in the remote repository. You can customize your Issue Type Mapping, Link Type Mapping, Validators, Issue Approvals, and much more to match your processes.
Whether you are in Jira or in the connected repository, clicking on the OSLC link will open a rich preview sharing the content of the remote repository without having to navigate to it.
The information shared in the preview is live information, no need to push a button to synchronize both repositories, what you see is is the most up-to-date information. You can customize the preview to only show information that is relevant to the viewer.
OSLC Connect for Jira is compatible with Global Configurations. Users can easily map Jira releases to a Global Configuration, and create a solid basis for managing multi-variant engineering projects.
Mapping can be one-to-one (one global configuration mapped to a single Jira release), or multiple OSLC configurations can link to the same Jira release. Make sure to establish a consistent configuration management process including workflows, reviews, and approvals.
Creating traceability is one thing, but being able to easily provide proof of traceability can sometimes be difficult. With OSLC Connect for Jira, users can create reports on the relationships between Jira Issues and other engineering artifacts, ensuring requirements traceability for your audit trails
For more information on a specific artifact, simply click on the artiact link in the report to navigate to the Jira issue or the engineering artifact. Reports can be created leveraging IBM Report Builder or Siemens Polarion reports.
From mapping change management types and actual issue types to your approval strategy, OSLC Connect for Jira is fully customizable to your workflow and your processes.
Map conceptual change management types (e.g., Defect, Plan Item) to corresponding Jira issue types. This mapping will automatically select the correct Jira issue type when creating or selecting issues from remote applications. If no mapping exists for a given change management type, the default issue type from the project scheme will be applied.
You can define which link type to use as a default when creating links from specific Issue Types.
Define the Approval strategy used in the projects using a selected issue type scheme. The approval strategy determines under what condition(s) an issue is considered approved. This is an important step when linking with Requirements applications supporting Change Sets (like DOORS Next). When a Change Set is linked to a Jira issue, it cannot be delivered until the issue is approved.
Control OSLC previews and what is included in your Jira previews from DOORS Next by leveraging your Jira screen configurations.
Customize the field exposed to external OSLC applications by adding or removing customer fields.
